Need simple storage for your system, but can't afford a networked storage device or a full-blown RAID system? Here's an idea: Build your own out of floppy drives and a USB hub.

Wow, ever since I was a (littler) kid I've always thought that a ton of floppies linked would make a 'funky' harddisk. At first I thought of ripping out the magnetic disks and building a h00j tower of them and having some moving arm to read that...like a CD changer. It quickly became obvious that I wasn't quite good enough for that.
We have several (hundered) IDE (uh oh) floppy drives lying around, so I tried to install then and then somehow software-sellotape them together....without sucess.
I wonder if I could do it with my (dual booted) Red Hat 7.3....?

not too expensive if you buy them on eBay, at a dot-com fire sale, on craigslist, at an auction...
